Katherine Smart, Generosity & Impact Advisor, Abundance Canada
Katherine Smart is a gift planning professional who transitioned into the field four years ago after 25 years in fund development. At Abundance Canada, she helps donors achieve their philanthropic goals with empathy, care, and a dash of fun. Her background includes work with Habitat for Humanity, Heart and Stroke Foundation, United Way, and 4-H Ontario. Katherine is active in the Vancouver Chapter of CAGP, where she has co-chaired the Professional Development Program for the past three years and completed the Original Gift Planning Course in 2024. Katherine enjoys volunteering, outdoor adventures, travel, and playful pursuits.

Brian Koning is a highly relational leader who finds purpose in “connecting good people to good people.” With over two decades in education, leadership development, and investor relations, he brings a wealth of experience to his role as a Generosity & Impact Advisor at Abundance Canada. His background includes advancement work at a private school, investor relations in the exempt market, and leadership development with FranklinCovey. Guided by the maxim “Invest wise. Change lives,” Brian is honored to help generous individuals achieve strategic impact for what matters most to them.
