Key differences between the US and Canadian tax systems for individuals and business entities:
This presentation will include a high-level overview of certain issues impacting cross-border clients where the US tax rules may diverge significantly from the Canadian tax rules. Attendees will learn about key significant differences that impact certain Canadian resident individuals, and those that impact Canadian businesses expanding into or doing business in the US. Attendees will be able to more comprehensively advise their individual and business clients and proactively plan to mitigate risk and reduce cross-border tax exposure.
Kevin Stickle joined Larson Gross in 1998 and has been an integral part of the firm’s tax practice growth since 1999. He currently serves as a client service partner and a technical leader for the firm’s international tax service line.
He is a summa cum laude graduate from both Central Washington University and Golden Gate University, where he earned his Master of Science in Taxation with a focus in international tax and was named Outstanding Graduate in his program.
Kevin enjoys jogging, motorcycling and trivia. He and his wife, Zabrina, also enjoy exploring the world together. Some of their past adventures include traveling to Spain, countries throughout central and South America, Antarctica, and a four country Sub-Saharan Africa safari.
Haley began her career at Larson Gross in October 2020. She is a graduate of Western Washington University, where she earned a master’s degree in professional accounting.
Since joining Larson Gross, Haley has worked extensively with Canadian clients navigating
various US tax complexities. She primarily serves business entities expanding operations into and across the US. Haley enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and traveling to new places.
Laura began her career at Larson Gross in September 2019. She is a graduate of Western
Washington University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business
management. While at Larson Gross, Laura has spent extensive time working on the International Tax team. She has a primary focus on individuals living or working in foreign countries (primarily Canada). Laura enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
